University Chapters
The Institute of Health Professionals Development (IHPD)-Sierra Leone is an organisation committed to advancing the health workforce in Sierra Leone through advanced training and professional networking. We aim to improve the skills of students in health-related fields and practising health professionals through a variety of learning opportunities.
IHPD is an affiliate of the African Institute of Public Health Professionals (AIPHP); the latter provides a professional networking platform for public health scholars and practitioners in Africa.
AIPHP has four (4) membership categories as follows: Fellow, Full Member, Associate, and Student memberships. IHPD-Sierra Leone, in collaboration with AIPHP, has established the Sierra Leone Chapter, with its inauguration and the first investiture of chapter membership scheduled for April 2025.
To enable health-related students across the various universities to benefit from the AIPHP professional network and from IHPD capacity-building initiatives, IHDP-Sierra Leone is establishing chapters in some higher institutions of learning that offer allied health courses.
